India: OMC set for maiden 3,100 t manganese ore e-auction from Dubna mines

  • Seven ore lots to be auctioned digitally
  • Premium grades expected to attract buyers

Odisha Mining Corporation is set to conduct the first ever e-auction of manganese ore from the Dubna mines on 20 May 2026, marking a significant milestone in Odisha’s mining and mineral marketing sector. The e-auction will offer a total of 3,100 t of manganese ore from the Dubna-Sekradih mines in the Barbil region.

The auction will feature seven lots comprising various grades of manganese ore ranging from Mn 35% to 46%, along with high-grade MnO₂ ore of 78% and 82% purity. The floor prices have been fixed between INR 19,849- INR 29,491/t ($207-$308/t), reflecting the premium quality and strong market demand for the mineral.

Among the offerings, the largest quantity of 1,100 t falls under the Mn 35-37% category, while premium MnO₂ grades are also expected to attract competitive bidding from buyers across the steel and alloy industries. Pre-bid EMD has been fixed at 4% of the floor price to ensure transparent and serious participation.

The upcoming e-auction is expected to strengthen OMC’s digital mineral marketing initiative and reinforce Odisha’s position as a major hub for manganese ore production in India.

According to BigMint’s monthly assessment of manganese ore (Mn:30%) exw Odisha, prices remained unchanged at INR 14,000/t ($146/t) m-o-m.
