India: OMC (Odisha) offers 1 lac tonnes of Iron Ore Lumps in Domestic Market

The Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC), a government of Odisha undertaking, based in Bhubaneswar (Odisha) has offered Iron ore for  immediate sale.

Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd. intends to sale +62% Fe 10-40 mm CLO (basis 62% Fe) Iron Ore from Ex-Kurmitar/ Khandadhar Iron Ore mines of Koira Region in Sundargarh District for immediate sale at prevailing price i.e. Rs 4151/ MT (inclusive of royalty and exclusive of other 

taxes and duties as applicable).

Total quantity available for sale is only 

1,00,000 MT upto Sept '13 on first-come-first-serve basis.

Iron Ore will be sold only to end-use plants of Odisha and outside, who are eligible.

Applications for the above are invited from steel plants, Sponge iron and Pig iron plants only. Loading and transportation is to be arranged by the interested party.

Iron ore miners such as OMC have been unable to sell out the raw material in big quantities, owing to weak demand and no uptick in Indian Sponge iron prices.
