Leading merchant chrome ore producer, Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), received a robust response at its latest chrome ore auction held on 30 July’21. The entire quantity of 35,100 t got booked at the auctions at nearly the base price save for the higher grade of ore which triggered aggressive booking. The increased demand for chrome ore can be attributed to escalating ferro chrome prices in the domestic market, SteelMint notes. Currently, prices stand at INR 122,000/t, with some bulk orders getting concluded at INR 125,000/t ex-Jajpur, as per reports.
