Odisha’s merchant iron ore producer – KJS Ahluwalia and Kaypee Enterprises has today announced a price cut of about INR 200/MT in lumps and INR 150/MT in fines.
KJS Ahluwalia is third largest merchant miners in Odisha and has produced 5.4 MnT iron ore during Apr’17-Feb’18.
Last week, India’s largest merchant iron ore producer – Rungta Mines reduced iron prices about INR 200/MT in lumps and INR 100/MT in fines and Essel Mining also reduced iron ore prices by INR 225/MT in both lumps and fines.
Odisha iron ore prices have come under pressure amid improved iron ore availability in the state post resumption of operations at Serajuddin and Essel Mining. In the recent update received, Odisha’s RP Sao mines has received ‘consent to operate’ from SC which will further add to state’s iron ore availability.
Also falling pellet prices, declining sponge iron prices have weighed down iron ore prices.
