Sponge iron prices in Odisha’s Rourkela fell by INR 500/t on 8 Sep’21. SteelMint’s price assessment for sponge C-DRI (FeM 80%, mix material) stands at INR 29,800/t ($405) exw-Rourkela. Around 3,070 t of deals were reported at INR 29,500-30,000/t exw. According to sources, demand remained a bit active today as compared to yesterday, however fall in billet prices have continued to keep sponge iron prices under pressure.
