Iron pellet manufacturers based in Odisha, eastern part of India, have raised offers marginally by Rs 100-200 per ton on improved demand and rising sponge iron prices in domestic market, highlight market participants.
“Offers have been raised by Rs 100-200/t, Fe 63 pellet is being offered in the range of Rs 7,600/t (Loaded to wagons at Barbil) or Rs 7,350/t (Ex-Plant at Barbil). Somehow demand has increased on rising sponge iron prices and higher iron ore lumps prices by private miners in Odisha”, said a sponge manufacturer based in West Bengal.
Rungta mines offer for Fe 63, CLO 5-18mm lumps ore at Rs 7,250/t (Loaded to Wagons, Barbil), he further added.
On the other hand, sponge manufacturers anticipate that pellet prices may fall in coming months, specially after NMDC has cut its lump ore prices by 7%.
