As per SteelMint sources, Odisha govt has resumed issuing permits to the four iron ore mines whose permits were put on hold in end of 1st week of October. These mines include – Serajuddin Mines, KJS Ahluwalia, Kaypee Enterprises and AMTC.
Dispatches were still going on from these mines, however, new permits were temporarily suspended owing to unknown reasons, after which East India based sponge & pellet units were facing difficulty in putting permissions for sourcing iron ore from these mines.
Odisha is India’s largest iron ore producing state and recorded production of 96.76 MnT in FY18.
Serajuddin Mines dispatched 0.84 MnT iron ore in Sep’18, up 14% M-o-M. KJS Ahluwalia dispatches stood at 0.47 MnT and that from Kaypee Enterprises stood at 0.46 MnT. AMTC dispatched 0.26 MnT iron ore in Sept’18.
