India: Odisha govt invites PMAI for discussion on iron ore shortage

The Odisha government’s Steel and Mines Department has asked the Pellet Manufacturers Association of India (PMAI) to participate in a virtual meeting to discuss the issue of shortage of iron ore in India’s eastern region, SteelMint learnt from a government correspondence dispatched on 29 Jun’21. The state government has requested PMAI to furnish the required data within three days in order to fix the virtual meeting. As per PMAI, the supply of iron ore for pellet producers has been falling short of roughly 50% of demand.
