The Joint Director of Mines, Odisha government, has sent across a suspension of mining operations notice to Sarda Mines Pvt Ltd (SMPL) from the Thakurani B block in Odisha, which expired on 13 Aug’21. The government has directed SMPL to stop all mining-related operations. As per SteelMint reports, steel major JSPL, which enjoyed a long-standing agreement in regard to accessing iron ore from SMPL, had last lifted about 13 mn t of stocks from SMPL in Apr’21.
