A major Jharsuguda, Odisha-based mill has reported a deal for 4,000 t of steel grade pig iron at around INR 37,200/t exw today. Prices have risen by INR 700/t compared to deals at INR 36,500/t on 10 Dec’21.
Rising billet prices and resumption of exports are supporting pig iron prices.
Durgapur-based producers have raised offers by INR 800-1,000/t to around INR 39,000/t exw for steel grade material.
