India: NTPC makes progress on Chhatti-Bariatu coal project

The country’s largest power company, NTPC Ltd., has made significant progress by exposing coal seam on its Chatti-Bariatu project. This comes after mining operations were commenced last month. The project with rated annual capacity of 7 mnt is slated to start coal production from Jul’22, and would join the list of coal mines owned by the company namely Pakri Barwadih, Dulanga and Talaipalli.
