Non-coking Coal import reached around 3.5 MnT at the week ended on 29 Mar, 2014 and registered a jump of 14.5% against previous week.
SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 3.5 MnT at the end of week 13, which has increased from 3 MnT of preceding week. Out of the total imports, around 71% comprises of Non-coking comes from different destination.
Indonesia, a major supplier of Non-coking, supplied around 2.7 MnT in the duration of week 13 and registered a jump of 11% against the prior week.
A large quantity of Non-coking is imported from Indonesia, South Africa & USA. Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 0.48 MnT from South Africa which belongs to Jaiprakash, Adani Enterprises, JSW Steel, ATLPL, Bharathi Cement & Janki Corporation. About 0.23 MnT & 0.05 MnT Non-coking arrived from USA & Australia, which imported by Shree Cement & OCL India respectively.
Mundra has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 1 MnT of Coal. Contribution of quantity was given by Coastal Gujarat Power, Adani Enterprises, Shree Cement & Adani Power as per the consideration of 33 major & minor Indian ports. Gangavaram is the second highest quantity port that imported around 0.40 MnT of Non-coking.
Adani Enterprises & Coastal Gujarat Power are the major importers of Non-coking at the week ended on 29 Mar, 2014. Adani Enterprises has imported about 0.59 MnT from Indonesia & South Africa. Coastal Gujarat Power has imported around 0.31 MnT of Indonesian Non-coking Coal at Mundra Port.
