India: Non-coking Coal Weekly Imports accomplish 3.5 MnT

Non-coking Coal imports reached to around 3.5 MnT at the week ended on 19 Apr, 2014 and registered a Jump of 13% against previous week.

SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 3.5 MnT at the end of week 16 that shows a jump from 3 MnT of the preceding week. Out of the total imports, around 73% comprises of Non-coking, comes from different destination.

Indonesia, a major supplier of Non-coking, supplied around 2.7 MnT during week 16 and registered a fall of 0.5% than the last week.

A large quantity of Non-coking is imported from Indonesia, Australia & South Africa. Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 0.29 MnT from Australia, which belongs to Raw Met, KISPL, Gandhar & Nimani Steel. About 0.26 MnT & 0.03 MnT Non-coking arrived from South Africa & Mozambique. South African Coal, which imported at Gangavaram, Mangalore & Haldia port belongs to Jaiprakash, UPCL & MSPL.

Non-coking Coal Week 16

Mundra port, on the West Coast of India, has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 0.9 MnT of Coal. The contribution of quantity was given by Adani Power, Coastal Gujarat Power & Adani Enterprises as per the consideration of 33 major & minor Indian ports. Gangavaram is the second highest quantity port that imported around 0.3 MnT of Non-coking.

Adani Power, Adani Enterprises & KISPL are the major importers at the week ended on 19 Apr, 2014. Adani Power has imported around 0.74 MnT Coal from Indonesia. Adani Enterprises & KISPL has imported around 0.35 MnT & 0.20 MnT of Coal from Indonesia & Australia.
