India’s total Non-coking Coal imports rose by 3.2% to around 2.9 MnT during the week ended on 15 Mar, 2014.
SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 2.9 MnT at the end of week 11, which has increased from 2.8 MnT of preceding week. Out of the total imported, around 76% was Non-coking Coal comes from different destination.
India has imported around 2.7 MnT from Indonesia in the period of week 11 and registered a jump of 14% against the prior week.
Most of the Non-coking Coal is imported from Indonesia, South Africa & Mozambique. Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 0.05 MnT from Mozambique which belongs to Bhatia. About 0.2 MnT arrived from South Africa which has imported by various receivers.

Considering 33 major & minor Indian ports, Mundra has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 0.72 MnT of Coal. Contribution of quantity was given by Adani Power, Adani Enterprises & Coastal Gujarat Power. Krishnapatnam is the second highest quantity port imported around 0.26 MnT of Non-coking Coal.
SteelMint assessed that Adani Enterprises & Adani Power are the major importers of Non-coking at the week ended on 15 Mar, 2014. Adani Enterprises has imported about 0.46 MnT from Indonesia . Adani Power has imported around 0.32 MnT of Indonesian Non-coking Coal at Mundra port.
