India: No buyers for low-grade iron ore at SAIL’s Odisha auction

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) conducted an auction today for 80,000 t of iron ore tailings (Fe 59.8%) from the Barsua iron ore mine in Odisha. The due date for the submission of bids was 6 Sept’21. According to latest updates, the auction failed to fetch any response. The reason could be the low-grade of iron ore being offered, SteelMint notes.
