The country’s leading iron ore miner NMDC has produced more than 26 mn t of iron ore from its two mechanised mining complexes – Bacheli and Kirandul – at the Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh, SteelMint learnt from a recent company update. Committed to boosting the nation’s steel sector, NMDC recorded total iron ore production of 34.11 mn t in FY21 – 8% higher than 31.49 mn t in FY20. The PSU miner has plans of scaling up production to 50 mn t by 2025.
