Chhattisgarh based steel plants increased sourcing from NMDC (C.G.) by 17% to 70 rakes (269,500 MT) in Jan’20 against 60 rakes (231,000 MT) in Dec’19, according to Railway movement data maintained with SteelMint. These figures does not include movement through the road.
NMDC’s supplies to outside state-based units down in Jan’20:
The procurement by outside C.G based units decreased for the month by 5% in Jan’20 to 261 rakes (about 1 MnT), down against 274 rakes (1.05 MnT) a month ago.
KIOCL sourcing from NMDC (C.G) dropped by 9% to 43 rakes in Jan’20 against 47 rakes in Dec’19.
RINL’s procurement from NMDC Bailadila mines fell slightly on a monthly basis to 140 rakes as compared to Dec’19 procurement at 144 rakes.
JSW Steel (Dolvi) sourcing from NMDC was recorded at 61 rakes in Jan’20 against 62 rakes in Dec’19.
Movement for exports recorded a slight fall to 52 rakes in Jan’20 against 53 rakes in Dec’19.
NMDC (Chhattisgarh) supplied a total 383 rakes (1.47 MnT) in first month of the year Jan’20, down slightly against 387 rakes (1.49 MnT) of iron ore in the month of Dec’19, according to railway movement data maintained with SteelMint. NMDC Ltd increased the prices from its mines twice in the month of Jan’20. The miner increased iron ore fines prices by INR 550/MT, Baila lump by INR 600/MT, DR-CLO price hike was by INR 700/MT and ROM by INR 570/MT.
