India: NINL Increases Pig Iron Price Up to INR 400/MT (USD 7)

India’s largest merchant pig iron supplier, NINL has increased its domestic pig iron prices by INR 400/MT for Steel grade & INR 150/MT for foundry grade Pig iron.

Current offers for Steel grade (N1) material is at INR 22,500/MT (USD 350) & Foundry grade at INR 22,750/MT (USD 354) ex-Cuttack, Odisha (East India).

The company is also offering discount on bulk purchases for Steel grade upto INR 400/MT & Foundry grade by INR 200/MT.

Prices have been increased in line with rising Australian coking coal & Indian steel prices and anticipated surge in export prices.

Notably, last week, the Vizag Steel (RINL) has concluded an export deal of 25,000 MT pig iron at increased price of USD 15/MT to USD 320-325/MT FOB east coast, sources.

Also, MMTC’s export tender of 30,000 MT is live which going to expire in current week i.e. on 13 Apr’17.
