Ram Chandra Prasad Singh has been inducted by PM Narendra Modi to take over the reins of the Union Steel Ministry, replacing senior Odia politician Dharmendra Pradhan, as per latest reports. The 63-year-old MP had served in the IAS prior to taking voluntary retirement to join politics. Singh assumes the mantle as the country’s Steel Minister at a time when domestic players are on the brink of a new expenditure cycle amid record-high global steel prices.
