India: NMDC Nagarnar plant may have to source merchant coke in case of delayed operations

The Nagarnar Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh may have to source an additional 200,000 t of met coke from the merchant market to facilitate smooth operations at the plant in case the coke oven battery no. 2 is not ready to initiate operations in accordance with the commissioning sequence and timeline. The steel plant has two coke oven batteries, with annual met coke production capacity of around 1.7 mnt
