Rebar manufacturers based in Mumbai have changed Rebar gauge parity for 8 mm and 32 mm, reducing it by INR 200/MT.
Rebar manufacturers based in Wada region decided in a meeting held yesterday night to revise the guage parity. For 8 and 32 mm, parity is reduced by INR 200/MT. This was done in order to compete with nearby Rebar mills like Jalna and Silvasa, where they supply bulk quantity to Mumbai region, especially 8 mm, according to a Rebar manufacturer based in Wada.
On the other hand, in order to increase conversion gap from MS Ingot/Billet to Rebar, parity was increased for various sizes like 10, 12, 16 , 20, and 25 mm by INR 200/MT.
Rebar prices delivered to Mumbai for 8 mm is approx INR 32,800-33,000/MT from all nearby cities (Freight included; Excise duty, Octroi & other taxes extra). Freight from Jalna to Mumbai is approx INR 1,100/MT and from Silvasa to Mumbai is around INR 700/MT.
