India: MoEFCC grants environmental clearance for iron ore, coal projects

The MoEFCC has granted ECs for key iron ore and coal projects.

• Sambhv Tubes (Chhattisgarh): Received approval for a 1.2 mnt/year pellet plant and a 0.8 mnt/year coal washery at Bhatapara, sourcing iron ore from NMDC and Odisha and coal from SECL and captive sources.
• Dhanlaxmi Iron Industries (AP): Secured clearance for a 0.4 mnt/year iron ore beneficiation plant and a 0.33 mnt/year pellet plant at Anantapur.
