India: MMTC Invites Tender for Supply of Low Grade Iron Ore Fines

MMTC, a leading international trading company in India and one of the major global players in minerals trade inviting tender for supply of 225,000 MT low-grade iron ore fines.

Material to be exported on FoB trimmed term basis from Gopalpur/ Paradip/ Visakhapatnam /Haldia ports of India. Mines owner, Supplier, and Traders can participate for the supply of low-grade Iron ore fine (Below Fe 57.5 %)

Presently, no export duty is leviable for iron ore below Fe 58% i.e. 57.99% below,  and the export duty of 30% applicable for Iron ore grades above Fe 58 %.

Amid shrinking steel margins and fewer environmental restrictions, Chinese mills prefer low-grade iron ore and concentrate rather than going for high-grade ore & pellets.

Quantity

Quantity in WMT: About 60,000MT to 75,000 MT (+/-10%) per month in April, May & June, 2019.

Specification:

Fe: 57% Basis, rejection below 56% and above 57.50.
Si: 9% Max
Al: 4% Max
P: 0.05% Max
S: 0.05% Max

Port of shipment:
Gopalpur, Paradip, Vizag (Visakhapatnam), Haldia.

Tender schedule (IST):
The Opening date is 14 Mar’19 at 17:00 Hrs. The Due date for submitting the offer is 14 Mar’19 at 15:00 Hrs.
