India met coke imports more than doubled in July

Indian met coke imports stood at 0.36 mnt in Jul’22 against 0.17 mnt in Jun’22, up by a whopping 111% m-o-m. More than 50% of met coke has arrived from China with JSW Steel being the top buyer. Indian mills had booked Chinese met coke in May when domestic coke prices were quite higher against imported offers. However, bookings made in May arrived in July.
