In two combined deals, 6,000 tonnes (t) of blast furnace grade met coke (25-90mm) was sold at INR 60,000/t in eastern part of India. Met coke demand in India turned sluggish amid risen costs as many merchant pig iron producers reduced their plant utilisation levels. However, buyers are reluctant to lower offers as coking coal conversion cost is much higher against the current met coke offers.
