Melting scrap prices witnessed a slight correction on 3 Aug’21. Prices moved down by up to INR 500/t especially in the Punjab market, with correction in semi-finished product prices amid limited finished steel buying enquiries. Prices were slashed by around INR 200-300/t in the western Indian (Gujarat and Maharashtra) markets and the same remained slightly supported in the Chennai market, SteelMint learnt from sources.
