Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang rose by INR 400/t d-o-d on 29 Apr’24, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 37,900/t ($454/t) exy. Due to fewer ships/vessels arriving for dismantling in Alang there is a shortage of scrap in the region. Also, moderate trades in semi-finished steel prompted scrap suppliers to increase their offers today.
