Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Alang, Gujarat, increased by INR 800/t today to a new high, SteelMint assessment shows. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 41,800/t, while attachment prices stand at INR 42,800/t exy. The sharp rise in prices of semis and bulk transactions in yesterday’s trading session along with the pick up in scrap trades in the region prompted suppliers to raise offers.
