India: Melting scrap prices rise on improving bids

Steel melting scrap prices continued to rise by up to INR 800/t across scrap-based markets except Chennai, as per reports. Factors that seem to be driving prices are healthy consumption in the northern region as standalone induction furnaces are fully operational and limited offerings witnessed in the western region, especially at Alang due to lack of imported ships, with the neighboring South East Asian nations bidding high for end-of-life ships.
