Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market increased by INR 200/t d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 40,300/t ex-yard. Prices of semi-finished steel rose during yesterday’s trading session and limited buying interest for scrap in the region prompted suppliers to hike offers. However, demand for rolling plates is better compared to scrap, sources informed.
