Melting scrap prices in Alang rose by INR 600/t today. Heavy melting scrap (HMS 80:20) prices are assessed at INR 39,000/t exw. Prices increased by INR 1,000/t over the last couple of days owing to improvement in buying enquiries and transactions by IF mills in the region. A sharp rise in prices of substitutes such as sponge iron supported scrap suppliers to raise offers.
