Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang increased by INR 500/t d-o-d on 15 Apr’24. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 35,500/t ($425/t) exy. Demand and prices for semi-finished and finished steel rose in yesterday’s trading session in the region, accompanied by active buying inquiries for scrap by the IF mills in Bhavnagar, which prompted suppliers to increase their offers today.
