Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 200/t d-o-d on 18 Jan’25, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 33,200/t ($383/t) exy. Although trade activity for semi-finished and finished steel was limited in the region during yesterday’s session, increased scrap trading by Bhavnagar-based mills prompted scrap suppliers to raise their offers today.
