Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 200/t d-o-d on 27 Mar’26, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were at INR 35,200/t ($373/t) ex-yards. The regional market witnessed active trading, supported by an INR 100/t rise in finished steel prices. Additionally, gas shortages persisted. Consequently, buying inquiries for scrap improved, prompting suppliers to raise their offers today.
