Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market increased by INR 1,000/t in last two days, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 44,800/t exy. Rising semi-finished steel prices in western region and moderate buying interest for scrap by the induction furnace mills at Bhavnagar, Gujarat, pushed suppliers to hike their offers, sources informed.
