Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Alang, Gujarat, remained stable d-o-d on 12 Aug’25. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices were at INR 31,800/t ($363/t) ex-yard. Currently, an estimated 30-35 ships are undergoing scrapping at Alang. However, the demand for shipbreaking scrap has eased amid the availability of domestic scrap at comparatively lower prices. As a result, suppliers opted to maintain stable offers today.
