Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Alang, Gujarat, remained stable d-o-d on 25 Jan’25. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices were at INR 33,500/t ($389/t) ex-yard. Despite the improvement in semi-finished steel prices in the region, trade activities remained moderate. Domestic scrap continues to be available at lower prices compared to Alang shipbreaking scrap, prompting suppliers to maintain stable offers today.
