Melting scrap prices rose by around INR 100-300/t in major Indian markets following similar price movements in sponge iron and semi-finished steel (ingot and billet) in major Indian markets. However, scrap prices in the southern region remained stable on usual procurements. Prices in the near term are expected to witness minor changes as per market requirements, trader sources informed SteelMint.
