Melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang are recorded as stable today. Limited demand and deals in semi-finished steel prompted Bhavnagar-based IF mills to hold bulk purchases, thereby forcing scrap suppliers to keep prices stable. However, limited scrap availability is supporting prices to an extent despite weak demand. Trade reference prices are as below:
- Melting scrap (HMS 80:20): INR 38,900-39,100/t
- Attachment scrap: INR 39,900-40,100/t
