Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market remained stable d-o-d on 9 Feb’26, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 33,300-33,500/t ($368-370/t) exy.The regional market witnessed balanced trading activity, as marginal firmness in semi-finished and finished steel prices in the previous trading session was offset by cautious buying sentiment. While buying inquiries showed some improvement, they were largely need-based, prompting suppliers to maintain their offers unchanged.
