India’s ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Alang, Gujarat, remained stable d-o-d on 26 Dec’24. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) stood at INR 34,500/t ($405/t) ex-yard. In the previous trading session, the region saw average trade activity for both semi-finished and finished steel. This, coupled with moderate buying interest for scrap from Bhavnagar-based IF steel mills, drove suppliers to maintain steady prices today.
