Melting scrap prices witnessed minor fluctuations on a d-o-d basis across markets. Prices remained elevated in a few markets in western India as well as in the Chennai market following improved steel trades, particularly at Alang and supply shortage in the Chennai market. In north India, prices were slashed slightly due to lack of buying enquiries for semi-finished products, SteelMint notes.
