Melting scrap prices in Alang, Gujarat, remain high today, SteelMint assessment shows. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 48,000/t exy. Due to the sudden hike in semi-finished steel prices along with moderate buying enquiries for scrap, suppliers in the region increased prices again. Notably, melting scrap prices increased by INR 3,000/t over the last two days on healthy sentiments.
