Shipbreaking melting scrap prices increased by INR 500/t in Gujarat’s Alang after remaining stable over the last couple of days. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 47,500/t exy. Despite limited buying enquiries in the semi-finished steel market, sellers raised prices in the late hours of the last trading session. This naturally encouraged scrap suppliers to raise their offers today, sources informed.
