Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 500/t d-o-d on 20 Mar’26, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 35,000/t ($375/t) exy. Trade activity in semi-finished and finished steel slightly improved in the late hours of yesterday’s trading session in the region. Additionally, decent buying inquiries for scrap prompted suppliers to increase their offers today.
