Melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang increased by INR 300/t today. Prices of Heavy melting scrap (HMS 80:20) are assessed at INR 38,400/t exw. Improved market sentiment during the closing hours on Saturday and rising prices of semis in north and central India offered support to scrap suppliers to strengthen their offers in the hope of better buying enquiries by induction furnace mills in the region.
