Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 300/t d-o-d on 28 Mar’26, with HMS (80:20) at INR 35,500/t ($374/t) exy. Trade activity in semi-finished and finished steel improved slightly in the late hours of yesterday’s trading session. Additionally, decent inquiries for scrap prompted suppliers to increase their offers today. On a weekly average basis, Alang HMS prices rose INR 500/t.
