Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 300/t d-o-d on 2 Mar’26. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 33,400/t ($365/t) exy. Amid the Iran-Israel conflict, key steel markets across India witnessed active trading in semi-finished and finished steel products. Additionally, improved buying enquiries for scrap encouraged suppliers to raise their offers during the day.
