Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 300/t d-o-d on 23 Jan’25, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices stood at INR 33,500/t ($388/t) exy. Moderate trade activities were observed for semi-finished and finished steel in the late hours of yesterday’s trading session. This, along with active buying inquiries for scrap, prompted suppliers to raise their offers today.
