Melting scrap prices in Alang increased by INR 200/t today. Lack of active plots and workers during the festive holidays impacted cutting operations, resulting in shortage of material. This resulted in a strengthening in prices. However, re-rolling prices corrected slightly due to minor contraction in demand, SteelMint learnt from trader sources. Trade reference prices:
- Melting scrap (HMS 80:20): INR 40,300-40,500/t
- Attachment scrap: INR 41,300-41,500/t
